Security Guard Training – Program Overview

🎯 Program Objectives

  • Understand legal authority and limitations of a security guard
  • Learn observation, patrol, and reporting techniques
  • Develop communication and conflict resolution skills
  • Gain knowledge in emergency response, use of force, and public relations
  • Obtain CPR/First Aid and basic self-defense certification (if applicable)


 

⏱️ Program Length

  • Basic Course: 8–16 hours (based on state regulations)
  • Advanced Training: Additional 20–40 hours
  • CPR/First Aid: 4–6 hours (separate certification)

📝 Admissions Requirements

  • Minimum age: 18
  • High school diploma or GED (recommended)
  • Government-issued photo ID
  • Background check (required for licensing)

  • Assistance provided for State Security Guard Licensing Application
